Straightening Out the AC Fins

The shape and design of the front end allows a lot of rocks to hit the AC condenser.

Because of the new 134a refrigerant that is used today, the condenser requires better cooling than before. To achieve this they have increased the amount of cooling fins per inch. You will need to buy a 20tpi (teeth Per Inch) radiator comb to fit properly. I ordered mine from Bobs Tools.

Simple to use, just insert the comb above the damaged area in a straight area and then gently pull the comb through to straighten. For deeper impressions I used an old knife to try and lift up the bent over fin first before using the comb. May not be perfect results but it is improved.
